• The Prettiest PROMotion , at Northumberland Mall, is set for April 10, 2010.  Here is your chance to pick up a Prom dress or other formal occasion dressware for a low, low price.

• Daisy Day will be held in May 2010.  Watch for boxes of Daisy pins at various merchants and purchase and wear your pin to make your personal statement against violence in families.

 

• Walk A Mile In Her Shoes , will be held this year at Northumberland Mall on June 11th and downtown Cobourg on June 12th during Downtown Cobourg's 6th Annual Busker and Street Festival.  For further information or to volunteer on the organizing committee please call Heather Norris at 905-372-7056 ext 236.

PAST EVENTS:

CHRISTMAS CAROLLING GIRLS

Four wonderfully talented young ladies sang on behalf of the Avid Reader to raise funds for NSW this Christmas.  The girls are also members of La Jeunesse Youth Choirs and have been part of raising funds for NSW in the past.  Thanks very much to Maura Mackenzie, Erin Leadbeater, Laura Greenwood and Ashley Olsen for their work in raising over $1,000 during one hour of carolling, and to Wendy Sharko of the Avid Reader for their support.

 

MOONLIGHT OVER MONACO  

was a fabulous evening raising over $15,000 dollars this year.  Many thanks to all who donated, sponsored and participated in this wonderful evening.  Watch for next year, when our theme will be MARDI GRAS on March 26th!!

WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES

 

NSW held 'Walk A Mile in Her Shoes' in May 2008 and May 2009 and it was a great success.  Be sure to mark Jume 12. 2010 on your calendars for our next walk!  Registrations and pledge forms will be available in January so please be sure to join us!
