Volunteers
Volunteers are highly valued at NSW. Without volunteers many of our services would be reduced.
Volunteers provide the following services:
- Driving clients to appointments
- Grocery shopping
- Cooking
- Resource Centre Reception
- Childcare
- Children’s Activities
- Gardening
- Maintenance
- Accompaniments
- Helping at Events
- Fundraising
Northumberland Services for Women operates bingos 2 to 3 times per month at Bingo Country North, Division Street, Cobourg. Volunteers to help run the bingos are always needed.
When you volunteer you help women and children who are abused, you help the community combat violence in families, and you benefit personally from knowing that you are making a difference in our County. Please consider volunteering your time and talent for us.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact our Resource Development Manager, Heather Norris, at (905) 372-7056 ext. 236.

Board of Directors
We are looking for members for the Board of Directors. If you are interested in sharing your skills on this vital Board, please contact Linda Janzen at nsw.ljanzen@cogeco.ca.
Student Placements
NSW offers educational opportunities for college and university students who require placements for programs related to family violence. We are also able to provide placements for students in business programs and a variety of other skills development. If you are interested in a placement of any kind, please contact Jane Lang, our Program Manager.
High School Volunteers
We also welcome high school students as volunteers. If you are a high school student and have an idea about volunteering on site or fund raising for us, please let us know. We will be happy to hear from you. Special events are planned for high school students to get involved. Walk a Mile in her Shoes is planned for June 11th and 12th, 2010.
Call us and ask how your school can participate this year.
